NG Clearing participates at WACMaC 2023
On Friday, October 25, 2023, NG Clearing’s Managing Director and CEO Designate, Farooq Oreagba alongside the General Counsel and Company Secretary Franca Egwuekwe participated at the West Africa Capital Market Conference WACmaC 2023 hosted by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria.
In alignment with the conference theme “Infrastructure Deficit And Sustainable Financing In An Integrated West Africa Capital Market”,
Farooq Oreagba‘s keynote presentation emphasized NG Clearing’s significant role as CCP in facilitating financial market development. He highlighted NG Clearing’s resilient and dynamic approach to managing counterparty risk as well as the deficit being bridged by NG Clearing as a Financial market Infrastructure
He also shared with the audience, the impeccable range of applications of NG CLearing’s CCP services across different asset classes and the future-forward approach to settlement and collateral management.
The West Africa Capital Market Conference (WACMaC) is a flagship program of the West Africa Securities Regulators Association (WASRA). As a biennial event, WACMaC seeks to present the West African region and indeed Africa as a whole with the opportunity to address important issues relating to the orderly growth and development of the regional and continental capital markets and attract investment into the sub-region. The Organizing members of WACMaC are the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), WASRA, West African Capital Markets Integration Council (WACMIC), and West Africa Monetary Institute (WAMI).
